The Brokenhearted

I can't help but maintain my title streak along with the release streak. Will someone actually become brokenhearted? Or will something else get broken instead? Find out with this weekend's release:

This is like winning the lotto after it has rolled over for a few weeks!

I want to send get-well flower bouquets to Shinohara-sensei. Yankumi = brute.

*in awe* You guys are unbelievably wonderful, doing all these releases in a row. I don't think I've ever known a group with such enthusiasm! Thank you so much!

I think if those two did get together, it might turn into an unintentionally abusive relationship. Shinohara is delicate!

i love you

Wait, is it just me, or does Noda get bandages always on the nose, never anywhere else. Is that an inside joke Morimoto-san thought of?

Loved this chapter, poor Shinohara. XD

Thank you,Thank you,Thank you. I would countiue saying Thank you but it would fill the entire page so one last time thanks to BP and Null.

Why are their still no answers to the feelings of Shinohara sensei I am beging to wonder if he might be gay. He dosent appear so but if he keeps side stepping things Im going to have to wonder.

Anonymous said...

hehehe -- while I do think the shonen-ai version of the story might also be hilarious, I still haven't really seen any indication that Shinohara has been paying attention to any of the guys, either. And there have been gay characters in the story already... I don't think that's the angle here, though.

Thanks for the new release!!Great chapter..Really really thank you guys a lot for your work!!

Shin now is officially the 3-4 class(and homeromm teacher) baby.sitter

Btw, Shinohara is not gay...First of all, let's face ir, Yankumi is not exactly gourgeous, but in my opinion the main problem for Shinoahara is Yankumi's Yakuza background..
I actually think, as it's been hinted before, that he does not want to became the nexr head of the family--the destiny of the guy that'll end up with Yankumi, so he keeps avoiding the problem and pretending that he doesn't know Yankumi feelings...
But my dubt is this..Does he like Yankumi or not? Can't really say..

Said that, Shin <3...

This chapter could also be headed "with friends like these..." Poor Shinohara! Poor Shin! I feel for them both.

Another great chapter for us readers. They suffer, we laugh, eh? As always, thanks so much for all your work.

another great scanlation from you guys :D can't wait for the next update ~ soon if my eyes don't deceive me ! *scrolls down*

OK I apologise for my comment about Shinohara sensei possibly being gay. Their is no proof I simply dislike his lack of interest in woman and men as pointed out.

As for his feelings about Yankumi I would believe that he has none. He just cant get it out their that he is not interested without causing a misunderstanding. The reason he told kyou that he wasn't capable of being the next boss was probably just his excuse to the clan. Remember the current head wants some one else other than yankumi's future husband to take the position Shinohara is aware of this and still shows no interest.

Well, Shinohara seems to be in one of those 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' situations. It is not like anyone could have a normal relationship w/ Yankumi since you risk your life (or at least various appendages) if you make her unhappy. It's not that she herself is so dangerous (although she did accidentally dislocate his shoulder)... but all the family would take action against the guy who upset her. He'd have to be really sure of his feelings to take any action here.

I agree with d1r31. One of the many differences between Shinohara and Shin is that Shinohara has never seen/known Yankumi outside of her yakuza context. It's quite understandable why that part of her life has a bigger impact on his decisions than it does on Shin. I think he does care for her, but feels caught in that 'damned if you do, damned if you don't' dilemma that d1r31 pointed out more than Shin is.

Shin knew her as a teacher first, and fell for the brave and determined and passionate teacher that she was. The yakuza thing was something he had to learn to accept along the way. Because of this (plus the fact that Shin is more open about his feelings for Yankumi), the contrast between the two men become more marked than ever, and in that aspect, we see why people would say that Shinohara's interest would pale next to Shin's.

Whew! ^^; That was a long one! Hope I made sense! *still waves the banner for Shinohara-sensei*

I have chosen to keep my previous opinion of his feelings for Yankumi.

Now with that said I agree with what was said about Shinoharas's perspective of Yankumi. What Shinohara sees of Yankumi is always her in the family affairs or faking her personality abit as it were.

I will disagree with the thought that the family might stop the two from being together. He appears to be in a better relationship with them then Yankumi herself. Worst case scenario it might end up similar to her mothers relationship did.

OK as long as I am voicing my opinion I will say I have an older woman complex.( not that any one wanted to know that )Their for I will always vote for Shin over Shinohara. Yes I am very biased in my opinion.

Last thing I wanted to get out their was a question. They stated Shinohara is 29, Shin is in final year of high school so 18? and Yankumi did 4 years college plus 1 teaching so 23?I just wanted to confirm this did I miss any statements of their ages?

thank you for your dedication in doing the translations since it is a lot of hard work.
there's one thing i'd like to point out in this chapter. when i read the translated comic in chinese, when shinohara told yankumi, " you for example, you wouldn't be able to cut ties...", it was translated to be a hint to her that he wanted to ask her to be with him, but he was certain that she couldn't. It didn't leave me with that impression here though. i'm wondering which it is supposed to be. but in the next chapt or so, the same topic will be brought back and perhaps clarified.

So maybe Shinohara has been suffering from a burning passionate love, but because he assumes that it is an impossible dream, has been rendered paralyzed? unable to take any action because he is defeated before he even tries?

He really has hidden that passion well, though.
Although it does seem like Shin is the first rival to actually appear on the love scene. Therefore Shinohara could delay in taking action since Yankumi would always be there, waiting for him...

I don't mean to be rude, but can someone from BiPuro fill me in. Where is the Gokusen ch. 7 release?? Is it ready yet? What's going on?
Hi!

This is for the anonymous poster who asked a question regarding the translation.

Context-wise and character-wise, Shinohara is, as you pointed out, asking Yankumi to cut her familial ties but that he also couldn't imagine her doing so. What we put in, was the true translation of the Japanese text. I'm pretty curious how the Chinese translation went. Perhaps they incorporated the explaination in the succeeding chapter since that same dialogue is rehashed there.

Hope that sort of answers your question although I feel like I've just seconded your comment. :D

@dj mixerr

I hope you don't mind if I were to point out that asking when the next release will be is a big taboo in scanlating circles. :D

Nevertheless, I shall answer your query and respectfully request that you refrain from doing so in the future.

As of the moment, both groups are on a short hiatus *release-wise*. Though we do not have releases, work is being done behind the scenes so just continue to look forward to our future releases.

You need not worry that our hiatus will be a very long one nor that we'd abandon this project. That is something we've promised from the beginning.

Again, thank you for your support and interest in our little project. :D

Asking for next release = bad form.
Waiting patiently = priceless.

I know previous releases have kinda spoiled you guys but please, no undue pressure. We'll get there when we get there. Rest assured, we will get there, eventually.

Sometimes, we do need to prioritize other things, like our lives, over scanning manga.

I thought that what Shinohara meant was a whole what would you do if you were in my shoes statement by it. Right after it appeared he realized that she misunderstood and went to correct it but the "OUCH" statement cut it short.

I would like to say you lot deserve a break after all thous releases. The hiatus is understandable for multiple reasons. The fact your doing work behind the scene is very admirable.

it is getting very exciting =]
looking forward to new releases, thanx for all ur hard work!

@ myrya
I didn't know to ask was a big taboo. I'm sorry. I slipped. RL. I'll come back in November, 6, 2008.

I had some Gokusen dream, well, only Yankumi was there, and maybe Shin, but the dream itself wasn't a good one, but I decided to drop by and give y'all a Good Luck pat ^^
