Last Friday was a very special day for our group, as one of the founding members of the original Bishounen Project celebrated turning a year younger. Younger because we may all age physically but our innerselves always stay the same wonderfully young age.

New Oneshot: Deatta Toki ni Boku Wa Mou Inai (Shimaki Ako)

Somebody slipped us happy pills. And it shows.

Not that we're tired of Gokusen or anything, but we just thought it was high time to give you some other bishounen as well. So here's one from Shimaki Ako, who never fails to disappoint us as far as pretty boys -- and unconventional and slightly smutty shoujo plots -- are concerned. In Deatta Toki, high school student Yuu finds herself pursued by a hot guy rather, uh... spiritedly.

This oneshot is the final chapter in Shimaki Ako's collection Suki ni Naru Made Matte (Please Wait Until I Fall in Love). It was originally a project of Tenshi-Tachi, who passed it on to ETC, who in turn allowed us do the chapter. Other groups have done the other stories found in this volume, so it won't be too hard to find copies of those chapters around. More yummy bishounen goodness for everyone.

When we picked up Gokusen last year, little did we expect that we'd be taking on other projects as well. But, yeah, well... here we are. ^^; We just hope you enjoy our first foray into shoujo manga scans.

Just a brief cultural note from Nagi regarding Yankumi's song: The "Samurai Spirit" is composed of Giri (morals/obligations) and Ninjou (human feelings/empathy). This ideology dates back to the Kamakura period (the beginning of the shogunate in 1192). Although the Japanese at present still have the "Samurai Spirit", it is said that only the yakuza actually live by it.

Then I have a piece of good news to relay. After several weeks of discussion, NULL and BiPuro have agreed to release Gokusen as a joint project. We are still in the process of ironing out some details but this is such thrilling news for all us fans as this moves us a step closer to that wonderful goal of a completely scanlated Gokusen!

The poll is about to end. It's pretty much a one-sided battle but I'm very glad to see that Shinohara has some supporters. Dementedchris will also be eternally grateful for those who voted for the sensei. I'm curious though: Why did you vote for the sensei? You just might convert a few others to your camp. (Or in my case, it might lessen the gap in my 40-60 affection division between the two love interests. hehehe)

Also, the answer to DJ Mixerr's question about scanlating Volume 15 is a resounding YES! But we are now doing the releases in a chronological manner. Of course we want to work on Volume 15 immediately but we are trying to use what little EQ we have and postpone gratification by building up to that volume. So no worries. We'll all get there in as sanely a fast manner as possible.

Again, translation credits for this chapter goes to micchan. Kaoko has really been going all out since last week with that extra chapter edit, this week's release and the new layout we are all enjoying. So send lots of love her way again. Everyone, thank kaoko for her overnighter effort in editing this so we could all enjoy an early release. Thank also micchan for once again translating this chapter for us.

About the chapter, we now see how Yankumi goes about infiltrating Aotama. Watch out for the conversation between Yankumi and her sempai regarding her reason for visiting, I especially enjoyed that. :D

An Exchange Student in Shirokin

It's really great reading up your responses to my question. I have to admit that, like most of you, Wakamatsu is a bit of an unknown and little noticed character to me too. Pretty nice of Morimoto-sensei to give Wakamatsu a spotlight chapter.

But moving on, we are now going into a lengthy but very interesting story arc. The chapter starts off like it'll be another extra story focusing on the poor lost exchange student, but goes into the beginning of the story arc. I'll now shut up and let you read it for yourself. :D

The Oily-Faced Family Man

I really had fun reading your answers to the question! And everyone had good arguments! But in the end it's all wait and see for us fans on whether the Kyou x Fujiyama pairing will materialize (although I tend to agree with the comment that that pairing died a natural death with Fujiyama's last comment).

And I have to commend Rekka's post that last chapter had the most romantic scene in the history of snot. That was a truly inspired statement! :D

Anyway, we proceed to a new chapter this week. Since we had a spate of holidays last week, we decided to complete it while we had breathing room. This chapter centers on Wakamatsu and so does this week's question:

It's a strange title for a blogpost, but then again Fujiyama manages to come up with really weird songs. I mean, what's up with that 'Mingenhina' song from the Anime? (And durn it! Funny how things turn out.

We had every intention of taking a quick break to sort out our lives but then we found ourselves scanning volume 10 (which will now be leveled out into HQ version), editing a chapter and fixing the site a bit.

So now we have a new release this week, Chapter 5 of Volume 14, and we now have a feedburner set-up.

And, to formally answer the question uppermost in all your minds, we still plan to continue with Volume 14 doing weekly releases up to chapter 8. Then, on a very special day on the first week of March, we will switch to Volume 10.

Sounds good? We hope so!

A Walk with Pochi-kun

Gokusen Volume 14 Chapter 4 release. Yay!

Not much Shin in the last chapter right? Well, this chapter more than makes up for that.

Just a quick project status before I give the links:

- We will be taking a one week hiatus so our next release will be two weeks from now. Still continuing with volume 14.

- We started scanning this weekend. Still tweaking the scan settings to get the best quality, but once done we'll get down to some serious scanlating. So look forward to our Volume 10 releases.

- Panners has been an angel for doing some translations for us. Everyone, please send her a shout out and thank her for her help in moving this project along.

Thank you once again to all the Gokusen Fans out there, especially those who left their comments. You make all the hours we spent on this project really worthwhile. It's such a thrill to know there are a lot of us out there.
